Learn to Skate Foundation Programme
What You Will Learn
• Proper skating stance, posture, and body alignment
• Balance development on one foot and two feet
• Safe falling and recovery techniques
• Forward marching, gliding, and propulsion fundamentals
• Controlled stopping techniques (Snowplow Stop)
• Basic forward and backward skating skills
• Introduction to inside and outside edge control
• Weight transfer and balance distribution
• Forward swizzles, backward swizzles, and basic edge exercises
• Basic turning and directional change techniques
• Coordination, agility, and skating confidence development
• Develop strength , endurance through structured skating movements, helping skaters strengthen muscle, improve fitness and enhance overall athletic ability.
The skills listed above are intended as a general guideline. Progression depends on each student’s individual learning pace and ability. Students who require additional time to develop confidence and proficiency may need more lessons to achieve these milestones.
