This programme introduces the fundamental techniques of figure skating for skaters who are ready to progress beyond advanced skating and begin developing figure skating-specific skills.
Through structured coaching and progressive exercises, skaters will develop strong foundations in edge control, balance, body alignment, turns, footwork, spirals, spin fundamentals, jump preparation, and artistic movement. Training on synthetic ice allows skaters to build confidence, technical control, and skating-specific strength in a safe and controlled environment before progressing to more advanced training on real ice.
This programme is suitable for skaters who are ready to develop figure skating-specific techniques and build the technical foundations required for future advancement in the sport.
Prerequisite
Participants should be able to skate confidently forwards and backwards, perform controlled turns and stopping techniques, demonstrate stable balance and edge control, and possess sufficient skating proficiency to participate in figure skating-specific training.
Skaters who do not meet all of the above requirements may still be considered for entry, subject to coach assessment and suitability.
Lessons are conducted on a synthetic ice training surface designed for figure skating skill development and technical progression.
